Scott heads the firm's health care practice group. Scott has tried over 50 jury trials to verdict, ranging from medical malpractice matters to products liability to an array of transportation, negligence and construction cases. He has represented numerous nursing homes in a wide variety of litigation throughout the state of Illinois and is a contributing author to three books on nursing home litigation. These are considered the definitive texts in this area. He has also acted as national coordinating counsel for a seatbelt manufacturer.
Scott is a frequent lecturer in continuing legal education seminars. He has been elected to the Society of Trial Lawyers as well as the American Board of Trial Advocates. Both organizations are reserved for active trial lawyers who are nominated for their significant expertise, experience and results in civil litigation. He was selected to the Illinois Health Care Association Legal Task Force in 2000, where he continues to serve. In 2005, he was selected by his peers as a member of the Leading Lawyers Network.
Scott was asked to provide testimony on behalf of long term care facilities to the State Senate Judiciary Committee hearings held on medical malpractice reform in March, 2005.
