Prior to joining Myers, Miller & Krauskopf, Ms. Cruz worked at a law firm that specialized in insurance defense, property damage litigation, and commercial litigation. In the short time Ms. Cruz has been an attorney, she has tried 4 cases, two of which resulted in verdicts for the defense and 1 in a hung jury. She has also taken many depositions, successfully briefed several motions to dismiss, written an appellant's brief and numerous coverage opinion letters.

Prior to beginning her career in law, Ms. Cruz worked as the director of managed care for a 600-bed, level 1 trauma center located on Chicago's north side. She has over 12 years experience in hospital management, managed care, health insurance, provider relations, and hospital and physician billing.
